Effective use of cloud computing in educational institutions

Introduction
This paper focuses on educational usage of the cloud services ways it will support these virtual services in a secure manner. It looked at answers that benefits higher education institutions and different educational uses.
Literature Review
Cloud works as a service on demand policy which includes computing and storage resources. The results of literature review are shown in Figure1 cloud computing is being used more in the finance and business areas.

Requirements and Proposed models
Wireless hotspot, cheap access device, web browser and broadband in the school are all needed to shift from being on premises to being in the cloud.
The required infrastructure model for this study is shown in Figure 2. It helps to meet the needs of the educational institutions.

The features offered by cloud are scalability and availability. Users can enlarge their environment successfully by applying user friendly application of cloud. The cloud is controlled by service provider and is available on request. Students’ objective is not limited; therefore the content must be changed frequently and dynamically. The required application model is illustrated in Figure 3.

Conclusion

The advantages of cloud computing in university are:
  • Reduce responsibility and burden of maintenance from the IT staff
  • Global platforms
  • Eliminating hardware and software capacities and licenses
  • Eliminating disaster recovery risks
  • Reducing cost
  • Scalability

The disadvantages that may occur are:
  • Majorities of IT services that are needed do not yet exist.
  • Constraints with service level agreements, application offering and security issues.r
